New Year’s Day Program

Community Forum: Achieving Our Dreams

The Emancipation Proclamation Association, Inc., held a community forum on September 21, 2024, at the Cannon Street Theater to commemorate the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.

2025 Emancipation King and Queen

The Emancipation Proclamation Association held its annual King and Queen Coronation Ceremony on Sunday, October 27, 2024, during the morning service at St. Matthew Baptist Church.   The Annual King and Queen contest is one of the fundraising activities for the Emancipation Proclamation Association. The funds help to offset the cost of the organization’s goals and activities.  The main purpose of the Association is to keep the purpose of the Emancipation in the forefront of the community. The King and Queen contest allows young boys and girls to learn about Black History, visit historical sites, and learn about grace and proper decorum.

Mr. Emancipator King, Micheal Crosby, and Miss Emancipator Queen, Savanna Benning, will represent the Association in 2025.  Micheal is the son of Dr. Micheal Crosby and Mrs. Stacy Crosby. Savanna Benning is the daughter of Attorney Ayesha Washington and Mr. Sterling Benning. The family attends St. Matthew Baptist Church, Rev. Calbert Brantley, Pastor.

Twins Sincere Davis and Serenity Davis were crowned Junior Mr. Emancipator and Miss Junior Emancipator, respectively.  Pamela Sanders, Mother, and Timothy and Angela Bryant, grandparents.

You, your church family, and organizations are invited to participate in this significant program. It is family-oriented and offers enrichment for every age group.
